Susan Chick is the founder and first moderator of Mothers Overcoming Breastfeeding Issues (MOBI). The MOBI support group was formed on Valentine's Day in 1998. Sparked by her birth and breastfeeding experience, this career girl combined her skills with computer programming and her new interest in birth and breastfeeding and the MOBI community came to be. The four mothers who formed the first group were grieving their unsuccessful breastfeeding relationships. From their fellowship and with great empathy they worked through their grief and went on to help other mothers coping with breastfeeding problems. The friendships on MOBI have brought comfort to many. It was out of the MOBI website and email support group that MOBI Motherhood International was born.

Susan has worked as a birth doula and taught childbirth classes. She has personal experience breastfeeding with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and baby challenges that include oral motor, reflux, & severe food allergies. She spends much of her time as the mother of three young children with special needs that range from speech delay, ADHD, sensory integration disorder to high functioning autism.

In her spare time, Susan enjoys volunteering as a board member on the Texas Midwifery Board, various projects with ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) and Boys Scouts of America. Susan enjoys organic gardening, swimming, and a newfound interest in snow sports.
